Phoenix Suns Game Night Guide — Footprint Center
Getting Downtown to Footprint Center
Footprint Center is located in the heart of downtown Phoenix at 201 East Jefferson Street, steps from Chase Field where the D-backs play. If you live in the West Valley, take the I-10 east and exit at 7th Street or 3rd Street heading south. From Scottsdale, jump on the Red Mountain Freeway and exit at Jefferson.
The best parking move for Suns games is to use the Valley Metro Light Rail. Park at any light rail station with a free or low-cost lot — stations in Glendale, Tempe, or Mesa all connect directly downtown. You skip the parking scramble entirely and arrive a block from the arena. If you do drive, expect to pay $20 to $40 in nearby surface lots and garages. Book ahead through the Suns app for guaranteed spots.
Best Pregame Spots Near the Arena
Downtown Phoenix has developed a strong food and bar scene within a short walk of Footprint Center. Plan to arrive at least 90 minutes before tip-off and explore the surrounding blocks.
- Culinary Dropout — A short drive from the arena but worth it for the pretzel fondue and craft cocktails. Popular with the pregame crowd on big nights.
- Postino Wine Cafe — The downtown Phoenix location on Highland Avenue is a fan favorite for happy hour bruschetta boards and wine before a night game.
- Four Peaks Brewing taproom locations and the arena concessions both carry local AZ craft beers if you want to keep it local.
The ZonaHaps happy hours guide lists downtown Phoenix specials that overlap with early Suns tip-offs — worth checking before you head out.
Inside Footprint Center
The arena holds just under 18,000 fans for NBA games, and the lower bowl creates an intimate, loud atmosphere on big matchups. The concourse food options have improved significantly in recent renovations. Look for locally inspired dishes and Arizona craft beer pours throughout the main and upper concourses.
- The arena is fully cashless — cards and mobile payments only at every stand.
- Doors open 90 minutes before tip-off. Arrive early to watch warmups from the lower bowl if you have lower-level seats.
- The Suns Shop inside the arena is one of the better team stores in the league if you need to grab gear on the way in.
After the Game
Win or lose, downtown Phoenix has solid options for wrapping up the evening. The Roosevelt Row arts district is a 10-minute walk north and stays lively late on weekends. If you want a quick post-game beer, the bars along Jefferson and Washington Streets tend to stay open and full for an hour after the final buzzer.
