State Farm Stadium Parking Guide: Where to Park, When to Arrive and How to Leave

ZonaHaps|June 10, 2026

Parking at State Farm Stadium is one of the most-searched event-planning questions in the West Valley — and for good reason. On a sold-out Cardinals game or a major concert, the stadium's 63,000 capacity arrives largely by car across a compressed window, and getting the logistics wrong costs you 45 minutes to an hour of your evening. Getting it right means walking into the stadium relaxed, with a beer in hand, before kickoff. This is a practical guide to every parking option, what they cost, when to arrive, and how to exit efficiently.

Official stadium lots

Premium lots (P1–P4)

The premium lots directly adjacent to the stadium entrances — labeled P1 through P4 on the official parking map — are the most convenient and the most expensive. These lots are typically reserved for season-ticket holders and premium parking pass purchasers, and they sell out well in advance of major games. Single-game premium lot passes become available through the Cardinals' official ticketing system when season-ticket holders release them. Expect to pay $30–$50 for the closest lots on a standard game day, higher for playoff and marquee games.

General parking lots (G1–G12)

The standard general parking lots surrounding the stadium are the workhorses of event-day parking. Pricing runs $20–$30 for NFL games depending on the game's importance, with lower rates for spring training (Camelback Ranch is separate — this is specifically for stadium events), concerts, and non-NFL events. Purchase parking in advance through the Cardinals app or Ticketmaster when possible — day-of cash lots exist but the best spots in the general lots go to pre-paid parkers.

Overflow lots

When the main lots fill — which happens on every sellout and most near-sellouts — overflow parking opens in areas west of the 101 freeway, accessible via the underpass at Glendale Avenue. These lots are free in some configurations and low-cost in others, but they require a 10-to-15-minute walk to the stadium. Factor the walk into your arrival time calculation.

Third-party parking

The Westgate Entertainment District and the surrounding commercial properties offer private lots that fill with event-day parkers. SpotHero, ParkWhiz, and individual lot operators list available spaces in the weeks before major games. The Tanger Outlets parking structure adjacent to Westgate is one of the best-kept parking secrets at State Farm Stadium — it is a short walk to both Westgate and the stadium, available without pre-purchase on most game days, and exits faster than the official lots because it does not face the same post-game congestion on Cardinals Drive.

When to arrive: a timing guide by event type

NFL regular season games

  • 2+ hours before kickoff: Premium lot access, full restaurant availability at Westgate, best tailgating setup time
  • 90 minutes before: Good general lot availability, short lines at stadium gates
  • 60 minutes before: General lots filling, some overflow activity starting
  • 30 minutes before: Expect significant 101 congestion, overflow lots filling, long gate lines

Major concerts (50,000+ capacity)

Concerts at State Farm Stadium fill later than NFL games but with more chaotic parking patterns — the fan bases are less experienced with the stadium's layout. Plan to arrive 90 minutes before showtime minimum. The difference between a 90-minute arrival and a 30-minute arrival on a major concert night is 20 to 30 minutes of additional post-show exit time in addition to the pre-show congestion.

College football bowl games

Bowl game crowds are typically smaller than an NFL sellout but less familiar with the stadium. Arrive 90 minutes before kickoff. Post-game exit is usually faster than an NFL game.

Post-game exit strategies

The post-game exit is where most State Farm Stadium visitors lose time they did not need to lose. Here are the approaches that actually work:

The Westgate hold strategy

Stay at Westgate for 45 to 60 minutes after the final whistle. Grab a drink or food at any of the district restaurants. The immediate post-game traffic surge dissipates completely within that window, and you exit to a clear 101 rather than a standstill. This is the single most effective post-game strategy and the reason Westgate does significant post-game business.

Leave 3 minutes early

Exiting when there are 3 to 5 minutes remaining in a game puts you ahead of 60,000 people. For games that are decided — either a blowout or a comfortable lead late in the fourth quarter — this option sacrifices little and saves significant exit time.

Walk to a surface street exit

Cardinals Drive and the 101 on-ramps are the primary bottlenecks. Walking 10 minutes to reach Glendale Avenue or Northern Avenue before driving puts you on a surface street that clears faster than the highway ramp queue.

Rideshare pickup zones

The designated Uber and Lyft pickup zones are on the north side of the stadium campus. Post-game wait times for rideshare are 15 to 25 minutes depending on demand. If you use rideshare, request your ride as the game enters the final few minutes rather than at the final whistle — the surge pricing and wait times are at their worst in the 10-minute window immediately after the game ends.

Parking for Camelback Ranch spring training

Note: Camelback Ranch is a separate facility 10 minutes southwest of State Farm Stadium. Parking there is handled by the ballpark's own lots, which are free, plentiful, and much less intense than stadium event parking. See the Camelback Ranch guide for specifics.

State Farm Stadium parking FAQ

How much does parking cost at State Farm Stadium?

$20–$30 for general lots on standard NFL game days. Premium lots run $35–$50+. Prices increase for playoffs, major concerts, and sellout events. Pre-purchase is always cheaper than day-of cash lots.

Is there free parking near State Farm Stadium?

Not adjacent to the stadium for major events. Some residential streets west of the district allow street parking (check signage carefully), but the walk to the stadium is 20+ minutes and parking enforcement does ticket on event days.

What is the best lot for quick exit at State Farm Stadium?

Lots on the east side of Cardinals Drive (P1/P2 area) exit fastest because they feed directly onto streets rather than the 101 on-ramps. The Tanger Outlets structure also exits well because it connects to surface streets rather than the main stadium campus exit flow.

Can I walk from a Glendale light rail station to State Farm Stadium?

Yes. The Glendale light rail extension serves a station within walking distance. Check Valley Metro Rail for current service schedules, which vary by event day and day of week.

Is there ADA accessible parking at State Farm Stadium?

Yes. ADA accessible parking is available in all premium and general lot sections, clearly marked and enforced. Purchase in advance through the Cardinals official site for guaranteed placement.
