Phoenix Metro Weddings

Phoenix & Paradise Valley weddings — resort lawns to Desert Botanical Garden.

Phoenix Metro hosts the bulk of Arizona's weddings. If half your guest list is flying from outside the state, default to the Valley first — most direct flights into Sky Harbor, the most hotel rooms, and the only nightlife scene worth planning a reception around. Book spring and fall dates a year ahead; nobody wants a July afternoon outdoors.

The vibe

Most options, most flights, most vendors. The default region if guests are flying in from many places — Sky Harbor is a major hub.

Best for

  • Larger guest counts (50-250) — most ballroom + resort capacity in the state
  • Destination guests with a direct flight into Phoenix Sky Harbor (PHX)
  • Couples who want optional reception nightlife (Old Town, downtown) after the ceremony

Where Phoenix Metro weddings happen

Area

Paradise Valley

Mountain-shadow resorts (Sanctuary on Camelback, The Hermosa Inn, Mountain Shadows). Camelback views, sunset ceremonies.

Area

Desert Botanical Garden (Papago Park)

Saguaro-framed ceremonies + Ottosen Entry Garden receptions. Books a year out for spring dates.

Area

Downtown / Roosevelt Row

Industrial-chic lofts, rooftop bars, walkable for guests staying downtown. Lower-key, urban aesthetic.

Area

South Mountain / Papago Park

City-park ceremonies with desert ridgelines. City permit required — covered in the permit guide.

Area

Cave Creek / Carefree (North Valley)

Working ranches + sprawling desert estates. Big ceremony space + parking for guests.

Climate + season

Hot and dry. Spring (Mar-Apr) and fall (Oct-Nov) are peak — 75-90°F. Summer regularly tops 105°F+; plan early-morning or after-sunset ceremonies and misting/shade for guests. Monsoon storms July-Sept — keep a tent backup.

Permits

Ceremonies in Phoenix city parks (Papago, South Mountain) require a City of Phoenix Parks special-event permit. Apply 30+ days out.
