Cactus League Spring Training
Fifteen MLB teams, ten stadiums, all within an hour's drive — the Cactus League makes metro Phoenix the spring-training capital of baseball.
Every February and March, fifteen Major League Baseball teams train across the Phoenix metro for the Cactus League. Ten ballparks are scattered around the Valley, several of them right here in the West Valley.
The West Valley is the heart of it: Camelback Ranch in Glendale (Dodgers and White Sox), Surprise Stadium (Rangers and Royals), and the Goodyear Ballpark (Guardians and Reds) all sit minutes apart. Add Peoria Sports Complex (Padres and Mariners) and you can catch eight organizations without leaving the West Valley.
Spring-training games are famously laid-back and affordable compared to the regular season — lawn seats, players signing autographs along the rails, and Arizona's perfect 75°F March weather. It's the best baseball deal in the country.

Cactus League games run from mid- to late February through late March, leading up to MLB Opening Day (the 2026 season runs roughly February 21 to March 22). The schedule typically drops the previous fall.
Which West Valley parks should I hit?
Camelback Ranch (Glendale — Dodgers/White Sox), Surprise Stadium (Rangers/Royals), Goodyear Ballpark (Guardians/Reds), and Peoria Sports Complex (Padres/Mariners). All four are a short drive from Glendale, Peoria, Surprise, Avondale, and Goodyear.
How much are tickets?
Prices use dynamic pricing and vary widely by stadium, opponent, and day — lawn and outfield seats can start in the low teens (sometimes single digits on a quiet weekday), while infield seats average around $50 and climb higher for marquee matchups. Buy early online for the Dodgers, Cubs, and Giants — those sell out.
Any insider tips?
Get there early for batting practice and autographs along the lower rails, bring a hat and sunscreen even in March, and grab lawn seats for the cheapest, most relaxed experience. Parking varies by ballpark — some (like Surprise) offer free parking, while others charge roughly $5-20.
