Queen Creek

The East Valley's agritourism corner — working farms, an olive mill, pick-your-own orchards, and small-town festivals at the foot of the San Tan Mountains.

About Queen Creek

Queen Creek sits on the southeastern edge of the Phoenix metro, where the suburbs give way to working farmland and the San Tan Mountains rise on the horizon. It grew up around agriculture and still leans hard into that identity, marketing itself as an agritourism destination even as new neighborhoods fill in around the fields. The result is a place that feels rural and growing at the same time, with horse properties and produce stands a short drive from new shopping centers. Locals prize the open space and the slower pace.

Schnepf Farms is the town's signature attraction, a sprawling family farm famous for its pick-your-own peaches in late spring, a giant fall pumpkin-and-chile festival, and a busy calendar of seasonal events. It anchors a whole agritourism scene that draws families from across the Valley during the cooler months. The farm's u-pick orchards, country store, and festival grounds turn ordinary weekends into outings, and its peach season in May and June is a genuine local tradition. It is the kind of place that defines the town's brand.

The Queen Creek Olive Mill is the other cornerstone, a working olive farm and mill where visitors can tour the groves, taste estate olive oils, and eat at the on-site marketplace and eatery. Between the mill, the farms, and Horseshoe Park and Equestrian Centre, which hosts rodeos and equestrian events, Queen Creek has built a reputation as the Valley's go-to for hands-on, farm-flavored fun. Town festivals and a community farmers market round out a calendar that celebrates the area's agricultural roots.

Like the rest of the Valley, Queen Creek bakes in summer, with highs well over 100 degrees from June through September, so the agritourism calendar clusters in fall, winter, and spring. Peach season in May, the fall pumpkin festival, and holiday events are the peaks. A classic day here might pair a morning at Schnepf Farms with lunch and a tasting at the Olive Mill, then a sunset drive toward the San Tan foothills. The cooler months are when the farms and festival grounds truly come alive.
